The get bandwidth e.g. of Yb:KGW and Yb:KYW is incredibly big compared with that of Yb:YAG. This enables for broad wavelength tunability and for much shorter pulse durations from method-locked lasers. Values properly under 100 fs happen to be obtained with passive mode locking. This is a pre
